Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine of WinderRami Arfoosh, M.D. FCCP, FAASM

Dr. Rami Arfoosh completed his Medical School in  the year 2000 and completed his Internal Medicine and Pulmonary post-graduate training at Chicago Medical School/Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, IL.  He also completed Critical Care and Sleep Medicine post-graduate training at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.  He is ABIM Board certified in all four specialties.

Dr. Arfoosh worked for two years at John D. Dingell VA Medical Center and served as a faculty at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.  He lectured medical students, residents and fellows.  He published several abstracts and papers in pulmonary and sleep medicine.  Dr. Arfoosh has been in practice in Georgia since July 2010 and is currently an assistant clinical professor and instructor for medical students at the Georgia Campus of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Medical College of Georgia.  He has privileges at multiple hospitals in Northeast Georgia to accommodate patient preferences. 

Dr. Arfoosh is a recipient of “The Professionalism Award” from Chicago Medical School in 2005 and several other awards in recognition of his personal manners and outstanding patient care.

He is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.  He is also a member of the American Thoracic Society.

His professional interests include management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases, Asthma, Sleep Breathing Disorders, Bronchiectasis and Intersitial Lung Disease.

Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine of Winder Kimtuyen Nguyen, MD
Dr. Nguyen graduated from Emory University and attended Medical College of Georgia in 2003. After medical school, she completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. After residency, Dr. Nguyen practiced for two years as an internist at Northeast Georgia Medical Center before returning for Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship in 2012 at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She is excited to return home at last and embark on her permanent career, taking care of the health of Northeast Georgians.
During her academic career, Dr. Nguyen was involved in research on acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome. She was also involved in quality improvement and implemented an intervention to improve fellowship education that received the top recognition for Innovations in Fellowship Education at the American Thoracic Society conference in May 2015. She is currently an assistant clinical professor  and instructor for students at the Medical College of Georgia. Her current interests are pulmonary hypertension, the use of advanced bronchoscopy for minimally invasive pulmonary procedures, and quality improvement of healthcare.

Billie received an associate's degree in Science at Gainesville College in 1998. She then went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Brenau University in 2000. She worked for 7 years as an emergency room nurse at Gwinnett Medical Center. She specialized in Trauma Nursing and was TNCC Certified. She also worked as a clinical specialist for Brenau University. She returned to Brenau and received her Master's in Nursing with concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner. Billie worked as a Nurse Practitioner for 8 years at an Internal Medicine Office. 
Billie was born in Winder and now resides in Hoschton. She is very excited to be working in her hometown. She has been married for 15 years to her husband Robbie, and has 1 daughter and 2 sons. She is very active at Chestnut Mountain Church where she volunteers in children's ministry. She enjoys all types of music and enjoys concerts. She also volunteers for her daughter's softball team and her son's baseball team. She takes great pride in being a mother, especially a "Ball Mom".

Jami Jefferson, FNP-C 
Jami received an Associate's Degree of Science from Gainesville College in 2001. She then went to Brenau University where she obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in 2003. She began her nursing career at Gwinnett Medical Center in the Emergency Department as an adult and pediatric nurse, becoming trauma specialized with TNCC and CEN certifications. While working at Gwinnett Medical, Jami completed her Master's Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Brenau University in 2015. 
Jami is from Winder and is proud to work in her hometown. She has been married for five years and has one daughter; being a wife and mother is what she loves most. She loves spending time with her family and her two dogs, Cotton and Keyson. She is a member of First United Methodist Church of Winder.
