Rami Arfoosh, M.D. FCCP, FAASM

Dr. Rami Arfoosh graduated from Medical School in the year 2000. He completed his Internal Medicine and Pulmonary post-graduate training at Chicago Medical School/Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, IL. He also completed Critical Care and Sleep Medicine post-graduate training at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.
Dr. Arfoosh initially worked for two years at John D. Dingell VA Medical Center and served as a faculty at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He lectured medical students, residents and fellows. He published several abstracts and papers in pulmonary and sleep medicine. Dr. Arfoosh is a recipient of “The Professionalism Award” from Chicago Medical School in 2005 and several other awards in recognition of his personal manners and outstanding patient care.
Dr. Arfoosh moved to Georgia and founded Pulmonary and Sleep Specialists of Northeast Georgia in 2010. He is currently a Clinical Associate Professor and instructor for medical students at the Medical College of Georgia and the Georgia Campus of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Arfoosh serves as the Medical Director of the Respiratory Department for Northeast Georgia Health System. He is also a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.  
His professional interests include management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases, Asthma, Sleep Breathing Disorders, Bronchiectasis, Intersitial Lung Disease and screening for lung cancer.
For several years, Dr. Arfoosh has been actively involved in conducting trials in pulmonary diseases. He serves as principal investigator on several studies.

Rachel Nisbet, M.D.

Dr. Nisbet has lived most of her life in the greater Atlanta area and is a graduate of Emory University's School of Medicine, magna cum laude, class of 2002. She completed both her Internal Medicine Residency and her Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at Emory. Upon completion of her fellowship in 2008, Dr. Nisbet began her career in private practice in Gwinnett County.
Her current professional interests involve the management of COPD, asthma and pulmonary hypertension.
Since 2011, Dr. Nisbet has also been actively involved in conducting clinical trials in pulmonary diseases with over twenty-five studies to her credit as principal investigator.

Kimtuyen Nguyen, M.D.

Dr. Nguyen graduated from Emory University and attended Medical College of Georgia in 2003. After medical school, she completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. After residency, Dr. Nguyen practiced for two years as an internist at Northeast Georgia Medical Center before returning for Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship in 2012 at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
During her academic career, Dr. Nguyen was involved in research on acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome. She was also involved in quality improvement and implemented an intervention to improve fellowship education that received the top recognition for Innovations in Fellowship Education at the American Thoracic Society conference in May 2015. She is currently an assistant clinical professor at the Medical College of Georgia.
Her current interests are pulmonary hypertension and the use of advanced bronchoscopy for minimally invasive pulmonary procedures. She was the first and only one to perform electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton. She still maintains a keen interest in continued education and quality improvement of healthcare.

Billie Nix-Beddingfield, FNP-C

Billie received an associate's degree in Science at Gainesville College in 1998. She then went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Brenau University in 2000. She worked for 7 years as an emergency room nurse at Gwinnett Medical Center. She specialized in Trauma Nursing and was TNCC Certified. She also worked as a clinical specialist for Brenau University. She returned to Brenau and received her Master's in Nursing with concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner. Billie worked as a Nurse Practitioner for 8 years at an Internal Medicine Office.
Billie was born in Winder and now resides in Hoschton. She is very excited to be working in her hometown. She has been married for 15 years to her husband Robbie, and has 1 daughter and 2 sons. She is very active at Chestnut Mountain Church where she volunteers in children's ministry
She enjoys all types of music and enjoys concerts. She also volunteers for her daughter's softball team and her son's baseball team. She takes great pride in being a mother, especially a "Ball Mom".

Jami Jefferson, FNP-C

Jami received an Associate's Degree of Science from Gainesville College in 2001. She then went to Brenau University where she obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in 2003. She began her nursing career at Gwinnett Medical Center in the Emergency Department as an adult and pediatric nurse, becoming trauma specialized with TNCC and CEN certifications. While working at Gwinnett Medical, Jami completed her Master's Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Brenau University in 2015.
Jami is from Winder and is proud to work in her hometown. She has one daughter and being a mother is what she loves most. She loves spending time with her family. She is a member of First United Methodist Church of Winder.

Svetlana Frey, PA-C

Lana Frey is a certified physician assistant who joined Pulmonary and Sleep Specialists of Northeast Georgia in 2020. She is passionate about providing excellent clinical care, and places a high priority on patient's needs and concerns.
Lana is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Association of Pulmonary Advanced Practice Providers. 
In her spare time, Lana enjoys cooking for family and friends, hiking, and volunteering at her church.  

Caralyna Nee, PA-C

Caralyna Nee, PA-C joined our practice in August 2020. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia, where she graduated summa cum laude and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science. She then went on to attend Mercer University's Physician Assistant Program and received her Master of Medical Science degree in 2020. 
Caralyna is a board-certified Physician Assistant who is committed to improving the quality of life of her patients. She looks forward to building long-lasting relationships and providing comprehensive care. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Georgia Association of Physician Assistants. 
Caralyna loves to spend time with her friends and family. She also enjoys running, taking pictures of her cat, and cheering on the Dawgs!
