About Dr. Shashvat Sukhal
Building on his experience as a Pulmonary and Critical Care consultant, Dr. Sukhal pursued advanced training through the Interventional Pulmonary fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. His expertise encompasses robotic bronchoscopy, rigid bronchoscopy with stent placement, advanced therapeutic procedures (cryotherapy, argon-plasma coagulation), and bronchoscopic lung volume reduction for COPD and emphysema. He is also skilled in percutaneous tracheostomy, sleep endoscopy for obstructive sleep apnea, pleuroscopy, and critical care echocardiography.
As core faculty, Dr. Sukhal has been instrumental in training medical students, residents, and fellows while leading various educational initiatives. His academic contributions include peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international conferences. He served on the ABIM Critical Care Medicine board exam item-writing task force and contributes educational content to the American Thoracic Society. He is also active in the American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology.
